What can you tell us about your show? What is it about and where did the idea come from?

The show is a one-woman musical comedy with 12 original songs ranging from classic Broadway ballads and contemporary musical theatre to Lady Gaga-esque club songs. Part identity crisis, part comedic family story – the show chronicles my search for identity outside the shadow of both my iconic upbringing and the career ambitions I’ve had since childhood.

My iconic miracle-adjacent turkey basting conception story and having five moms has always been my go-to “fun fact.” My family and friends have been telling me to write a show about it for years, but I never knew what I wanted to say about it.

I didn’t have the “WHY NOW?” After experiencing career heartbreak and reexamining my life and priorities, I knew I had to write the show and take some control back. I teamed up with my incredible co-composer Jody Shelton and director Eddie Grey, and the rest is history!

How would you sell it to audiences in one paragraph?

Most of My Moms Are Gay – I was turkey basted into existence by my iconic lesbian mother. Now I have five moms and an identity crisis. 12 original songs. Musical theatre comedy. Coming out as STRAIGHT. Who the heck am I besides the “daughter of lesbians”?

Do you enjoy participating in the Fringe? And do you have any moments you particularly remember?

This is my first Fringe!

What are you looking forward to the most in Edinburgh?

The energy of the festival! I can’t wait to be inspired by other artists’ shows. I am also looking forward to being immersed in what sounds like adult theatre camp!

What’s next for the show?

My dream would be to get some producers on board to help bring it back to NYC and get a longer off-Broadway run. I’d also love to do the show in London or a tour! I am beyond excited to share the show with Fringe audiences first, as it continues to develop.
