Tell us about Oh, Sister Mary! What’s she all about and what is the show looking like?
Oh, Sister Mary! is a celebration of who Sister Mary is. She is the original ‘Cabaret Nun’, found as a baby on the steps of St Peter’s of the Sisters of the Third Removed in Soho.
It is rumoured her mother is a leading lady of musical theatre. The show promises lots of singing, stories, tapdancing – and some homemade flapjack!
And why does she have a “Memory” of Elaine Paige?
She thinks her mum could be Elaine Paige. Sister Mary is very musical – well, that’s what she believes – and someone should be blamed for that trait running through her veins!
What’s the Arches Lane Theatre like for cabaret? And what’s this audience participation bit all about?
Arches Lane is formerly the old Turbine Theatre, that was the home for many musicals. It’s a great space.
Sister Mary loves involving her audience in her shows. whether its singing along or even the odd game.
Oh, Sister Mary! is going to be a joyous silly show. We are in dark times, so come and escape and be silly with the original cabaret nun.
Do you worry about being confused with Oh, Mary! in town?
No, absolutely not! Sister Mary is a massive fan of Oh, Mary! She saw it 18 months ago when she was working in the USA, and more recently in London.
Both shows are about the desire to sing, perform and explore the art of performing cabaret.
You can follow Tim on his website and Instagram. Sister Mary makes her own arrangements here!
