HI! Productions bring an important show to the Edinburgh Fringe in The Naked Neds, as part of a Scottish tour.
It’s a hilarious and heartfelt story about five pals stripping off in a pub for charity — with a live testicular self-check on stage and a powerful message about men’s health underneath the laughs.

Your show addresses a very important men’s health issue. Where did the inspiration come from?
Last year, one of my best friends found a lump, and it really shook all of us.
It made me realise how little we talk about men’s health, especially things like testicular cancer, so I wanted to create something that opened up that conversation, but in a way that’s funny, honest, and human.
Do you think men are now finding it easier to discuss health issues or keep track of body changes?
It’s definitely getting better; especially with younger men, who seem more open to talking about their health. But there’s still a long way to go.
We need to keep breaking down those walls until a play like this isn’t even necessary anymore.
Can you say something about the charity involved in your show and how your work together has developed?
Cahonas have been brilliant. We’ve really grown with their guidance, and having their official support has helped us drive the message home.
It means the audience doesn’t just leave entertained—they leave with a proper starting point to check themselves and take action.
What are you looking forward to the most in Edinburgh?
Other than the £2 pizza slices, we’re really looking forward to connecting with new audiences. Edinburgh brings such a mix of people, and we can’t wait to see how the show lands with them.
There’s something special about performing in a city that celebrates bold, honest storytelling, plus the buzz of the Fringe is just unbeatable.
What’s next for The Naked Neds?
World domination, obviously. We’re eyeing up the Dreamboys’ regular slot; we just need to work on our choreography and maybe invest in some baby oil.
But seriously, we’ve got more tour dates coming and big plans to keep the conversation (and the clothes) coming off.
