Preview: Films in Concert (Royal Albert Hall)

A new series of Films in Concert kicks off at the Royal Albert Hall on 5 Mar, starting with the acclaimed Greta Gerwig film Barbie (2024).

Bringing together the live experience of watching films with a showcase for the art of the film score, Films in Concert has become a regular fixture in the calendar for both cinephiles and music devotees.

Matthew Todd, Director of Programming at the Royal Albert Hall, said: “Films in Concert is about bringing the magic and majesty of film music to centre stage, and we’re thrilled to be able to expand the series into four brand new titles this year, including two foreign language films.”

Titles have ranged from beloved musicals (Singin’ in the RainWest Side Story) to canonical classics (Breakfast at Tiffany’sThe Godfather) and contemporary blockbusters (InterstellarSkyfall).

Jurassic Park – Films in Concert

2025 sees screenings of Barbie, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Gladiator, RRR, Back to the Future, How To Train Your Dragon and Top Gun: Maverick accompanied by live orchestras.
