What are you looking forward to the most at Fringe?

I can’t wait to see Edinburgh in full Fringe swing!

I love being able to decide that I want to see some theatre and being able to find a show that starts in five minutes just around the corner.

Having so many people who are passionate about performing, creating, and enjoying theatre in one city gives the place a real buzz that I’ve never found anywhere else.

Tell Me About Three Bed …. It’s a new play about the queer dating scene in Scotland now, in your 20s. What’s it all about?

Three Bed (No Living Room) tells the story of Beth, a student in her early twenties who has recently figured out that she likes women.

With the help of her best friends and flatmates, we see her experiment with her image at Pride, pursue the barista she’s fancied for months, and find her place in the queer community.

There are a lot of queer millennial stories out there at the moment. Why should audiences come along to yours?

I have personally found that a lot of queer stories that are written and produced right now can be quite harrowing and leave you feeling somewhat deflated about your place in the queer community.

These stories are important and absolutely necessary to tell, but I think there is also room for stories like Three Bed (No Living Room).

It’s a lighthearted and honest piece that celebrates how joyous being queer can be.

How did Laldie Theatre start?

Laldie Theatre was founded by myself earlier this year after writing this piece.

Myself and everyone else on the team are 2024 graduates of East 15 Acting School, where we met.

I wanted to put together a group of people who were committed to ‘giein’ it laldie’, or ‘giving it their all’, and they certainly do that!

What’s next after this run?

I think that Three Bed (No Living Room) would do brilliantly as part of a queer theatre programme, so I’m hoping by Pride month 2025 we can have something set up!
