“An open mic night, London. Singer-songwriter Iris performs her first live set since being dropped by her record label. Desperate to find closure, she opens up about the inspiration for each song. From heart-warming memories such as meeting her best friend, to painful recollections of having to face her mistakes. With every piece of the puzzle she reveals more about her challenging pursuit of success and how her borderline self-destroying drive brought her to the brink of giving up songwriting forever.”

Tell me about your Camden Fringe show! What’s it all about?
SETLIST takes place at an open mic night in London. Singer-songwriter Iris performs her first live set since being dropped by her record label. Desperate to find closure, she opens up about the inspiration for each song. From heart-warming memories such as meeting her best friend, to painful recollections of having to face her mistakes. With every piece of the puzzle she reveals more about her challenging pursuit of success and how her borderline self-destroying drive brought her to the brink of giving up songwriting forever. SETLIST is an exploration as to why we work ourselves to the bone for the feeble promise of success and why we prioritise our goals above our happiness.
What’s the best thing about being part of a festival like this?
As this is my first time putting on a show, I’ve particularly enjoyed the support the Camden Fringe gives you. They provide loads of useful information on things like how to put a press release together, or how to promote your show. Zena and Michelle always reply quickly to any additional questions you may have, even if it is just to double check something. So shout out to them!
What has your company been up to over the part year of theatre recovery?
Besides writing and trying to create new material, we’ve made an effort to go and watch as many shows as possible. To financially and morally support theatres, but on a more selfish note, to be inspired again.
Do you have further plans for the show after the Camden Fringe? Or other shows in other spaces?
So far these two dates are your only chances to watch SETLIST. So get your tickets before we sell out!
Let’s finish on a one-liner. Why should I come to see SETLIST?
A non-linear plotline, original songs and a sprinkle of humour; these are the ingredients of “SETLIST”!
