Something for the weekend

Author: Louise Penn  Published Date: November 29, 2013

The amazing Ella Fitzgerald duets with the sublime Sammy Davis Jr on the Ed Sullivan Show.  What’s striking about this clip is how delighted Davis seems in having the chance to sing with Ella.  Truly ‘S’Wonderful’.

Enjoy your weekend!

At @stratfordeast tonight for The Harder They Come - I heard great things about this on its last visit and am looking forward to checking it out for myself!
At the lovely @theatreattabard to see HMS Pinafore. We have flags, and the pre-show music is The Andrews Sisters!
Now on a UK tour, @spyonstage is at @richmondtheatre this week - noirish and tense, this brings John Le Carre's celebrated set novel back into our consciousness.
Today in my series celebrating female colleagues in theatre criticism and content creation it is the turn of the brilliant @wheeliestagey!
You can check out @huntsmanshortfilm now as it heads to film festivals - have a read of what I thought of it.
At lovely @richmondtheatre tonight for the tour of The Spy Who Came In From The Cold. You may remember the John Le Carre novel or the 1960s film!
