Shows from the cheap seats: Coven at Kiln Theatre

Welcome back to the latest in my series looking at budget options seats in London. Today it’s the turn of the Kiln in Kilburn, where Coven is today’s show from the cheap seats.

Show and venue

Coven, a musical at Kiln Theatre, £20

Seat

Booked Circle E8

Expectation

I hadn’t sat up in the circle at the Kiln before so had no expectations. The seat wasn’t sold with any restriction.

Reality

This is a seat on the back row, facing the stage. Good legroom, and you can put coats etc on the back of your chair.

Very good, clear view. The only downside is the inability to see the projected scenes in full because of a hanging object (light/projector) slightly obscuring the top, but this is a very minor point.

You are close enough to the stage to see and hear with no ptoblems, in a central row seat.

Evidence

Here is a photo taken before the show started. You can see the projection screen and the obstruction mentioned above at the top of the picture.

This is an official production photo. You can see the screen in full plus the angle of the set when seen head on from the stalls.

Conclusion

This is an excellent budget buy in a friendly theatre.
