Welcome back to our series about cheap seat options available in the West End and slightly beyond.. This week, we are at the Apollo on Shaftesbury Avenue.
Show and venue
Punch, Apollo, £35.
Seat
Booked Balcony B7.
Expectation
Very high up but clear sightline as row A is very low down in front. It’s also a different entrance to the main foyer.
Reality
This show is staged on a high, circular stage with a walkway across the top.
Although there is a bar across the front of all the seats except row A in the balcony, it doesn’t impact much on the view.
A couple of times when the action is at the front and side of the stage, you have to lean forward, but only by a bit.
There is one scene with some projected images above the walkway, but these are obscured from the balcony. Actors on the walkway do not have their heads blocked from view at any time.
Evidence
This is the view from my seat before Punch starts.

This two production photos by Marc Brenner shows the set-up of the stage:

Conclusion
Although TodayTix does offer some £25 tickets, this is an additional option for those on a budget with no vision or sound issues.
