John Chisham and Christian Loveless bring their show John and Christian: Teenage Heartthrobs to the Edinburgh Fringe this year.

Hear the scandalous, moving, and at times erotic story of the band’s rollercoaster journey from rags to riches and back to rags. Featuring the hits ‘Ooo Girl’, ‘Monday Morning’ and many more. Hilarious musical comedy from John and Christian, the BBC-featured, Leicester Square Sketch-Off 2025 semi-finalists.”

What can you tell us about your show? What is it about and where did the idea come from?
It’s the 20 year reunion of your favourite noughties boyband that are definitely real and whom we definitely didn’t make up. The idea for the show originally came from our podcast Real Album Reviews. We’d written all these songs for the podcast and thought it’d be fun to try them out in a live setting…and soon enough 5 minute sets spiralled into our sophomore hour length stage show!
How would you sell it to audiences in one paragraph?
Fans of Busted and McFly: dust off those phone torches and double layered tees and get ready for the tween boyband reunion of the decade! Some songs, some laughs- “it’s Flight of the Conchords meets Busted”.
Do you enjoy participating in the Fringe? And do you have any moments you particularly remember?
We love fringe! This will be our second outing as comedy duo John and Christian, but we’ve both been to Edinburgh lots of times as respective performers and punters previously. We performed our debut show Battle Counters to a grandparents and grandsons audience of four one day which was an experience we’ll never forget…
What are you looking forward to the most in Edinburgh?
We’ll be staying with our friends Bec and Ferg – so seeing them…and their dog! A hungover coffee at Summerhall never goes amiss. Neither does a soup from Bobby’s. And we’re hoping to meet up with the grandparents and grandsons from our first show if they’re around.
What’s next for the show?
The road goes ever on! We did Leicester for the first time this year and had a blast so we’re keen to hit up some more UK fringe festivals and build our audience on the circuit and perhaps take a punt at a full Edinburgh run next year?!
