Comedian and sketch writer Will BF (also known as Will Bicknell-Found) is the reigning UK Pun Champion, and is best known for his surreal, sci-fi-themed comedy shows and mockumentaries. He’s back at Edinburgh Fringe this year with Moon Team IIIV.
“Hang onto your space hats (technical term) for a surreal sketch odyssey through the best worst film you’ve never seen! BBC New Comedy Awards 2025 semi-finalist and Buxton Fringe Best Comedy Show 2025. In Moon Team IIIV (2 if you think about it), Apollo Moon is just a humble prince on a mission to stop a space tax. To pull it off, he’ll need a team… a Moon Team.”
Where: Jelly Belly at Underbelly, Cowgate
When: 5-30 Aug

What can you tell us about your show? What is it about and where did the idea come from?
Howdy! Will BF here! My fringe show this year is Moon Team IIIV (for those who don’t know their Roman Numerals: IIIV = 2… if you think about it), a sketch comedy mockumentary through the worst sci-fi film ever made.
Think The Play That Goes Wrong except it’s a film, crossed with Police Cops. I was inspired by those ’25 years later’ documentaries about famous films where they gather all the cast and crew together to share funny little tidbits — I thought: what if that was all live on stage?
How would you sell it to audiences in one paragraph?
It’s a show crammed with so many different things: sketch comedy, comedy songs, live video games played with the audience, charmingly awful puppets, bizarre costumes, an old-school overhead projector and much more! You probably won’t have seen a show like it (and not just because it has a weird ‘live documentary’ format)! If you want boundary-pushing, inventive narrative sketch comedy, then this is the show for you. And don’t worry: if you don’t care for Star Wars — the show isn’t anything like it!
Do you enjoy participating in the Fringe? And do you have any moments you particularly remember?
I do! When you’ve got a show you really believe in and enjoy doing, there’s nothing like it! I’ve been performing at the fringe since 2018, and my top fringe moment every year is the 27th August — because it’s my birthday! Aside from the presents (wahey!), it always leads to a particularly unhinged show!
What are you looking forward to the most in Edinburgh?
Aside from doing the show, the fringe atmosphere and all the lovely trimmings — I am looking forward to going to Mum’s Kitchen. If you haven’t been – GO! They do the best pies and milkshakes money can buy in central Edinburgh!
What’s next for the show?
I’ve been working on the show for the last 3 years, taking it to Brighton, Durham, Leicester, Haywards Heath and Buxton (where we won best comedy show for it!). So, aside from a couple of London outings post-fringe, I think after this fringe I may put it to rest for a little while — it’s also a massively exhausting show to do, so I may also need to rest for a little while.
