Carma tells us more about the show.
Why do you think Alice in Wonderland is still so popular?
I think it’s timeless because it celebrates imagination and curiosity – everyone can relate to feeling a bit lost in a strange world and trying to make sense of it.
It invites people of all ages to dream, question things, and see the world differently.
What does Theatre Peckham’s show bring to the role of Alice?
This version gives Alice a fresh, modern edge – she’s still full of wonder, but she’s also bold, expressive, and rooted in today’s world.
Theatre Peckham’s take really connects the fantasy of Wonderland with themes that feel real and relevant now.
Have you read the books or seen any of the adaptations to inform your role?
Yes, I’ve read the original stories and watched quite a few versions over the years, but I wanted to bring my own energy to this Alice.
I’ve taken inspiration from her curiosity and courage, but I’ve also tried to find what makes her unique in this production.
What’s the best thing about your Alice in one sentence?
She’s adventurous, open-hearted, and refuses to lose her sense of wonder, no matter how strange things get.
Why should audiences choose to see this version of Alice this winter?
Because it’s full of magic, music, and heart – a familiar story reimagined with a fresh spark and so much creativity.
It’s a show that truly celebrates discovery, diversity, and the joy of storytelling.
