Really important news from the London fringe scene as the Vault Festival has announced a new home and the return of the biggest and most diverse festival in the capital!
Background
It was devastating news in 2022 when, part-way through what was planned as the biggest and best Vault yet at Leake Street’s tunnels, the festival was told to find a new home for the future.
A social campaign and fundraising took hold almost immediately, with the knowledge that Vault was an essential, creative safe-space for emerging artists that we could not afford to lose.
Now
After running a mini-Vault in 2023, called ‘A Pinch of Vault’ and based mainly at the Glitch cafe on Lower Marsh, an announcement was made on 28 Nov that the #SaveVault campaign has succeeded!
So, the new home?
The creators of the VAULT festival have found their new home – a new, multi-space venue in Zone 1, Central London.
More details will be announced in Spring 2024 as the vacant space is transformed into a “thriving artistic hub”.
Key to this is making the venue as accessible as possible to all.
When will Vault return?
In Spring 2024, when there will also be a fundraising event (19 Mar) of fine dining at Shoreditch Town Hall.
Vault will also participate in the Big Give Christmas Challenge from 28 Nov-5 Dec. Across that seven days, they have a target of £9.925 to find, which will be matched by the Big Give.
